hello 2018!
Hello everyone & happy NEW year!
We hope your 2018 is off to an amazing start! We took a much needed rest/hiatus between Christmas & New Years. It was great to spend time with our families & just take in all the season had to offer. Now, it's back to business & we are more pumped than ever for this year to come. Our first wedding isn't til February, so January is a bit of an easy going month around r&r. We are in the mega brainstorming session for our fall retreat (more details & sign ups begin in Feb.). We have A LOT up our sleeves this year & we can't wait to see how it unfolds. We are praying that your year is everything you hope & more! Looking forward to getting to know you better this 2018!

As we say goodbye to 2017 and welcome in January 2018, I know that we are all faced with that looming question. What am I going to resolve to do this year? What do I want to improve in myself or for my family or for my soul? I struggle each and every year to come up with attainable goals. Losing that baby weight(my youngest is 11!!), organizing my whole house, eating clean, working less, praying more, etc…...I seem to set myself up for failure right from the start with goals that can not last the whole year through. It is like that list you make for yourself at the beginning of the day that is 50 items deep, and at the end of the day when maybe you have managed to tackle 10 of them, and then only half of those are done well, you look at the list and instantly feel like you did not do enough. Anybody with me on that one?!? So how do we remedy this? How do we become those goal attaining, list checking, better ourselfing, bad a$$e$ that we desire to be? We reign it in. We reach for smaller goals, we make shorter lists, we look at one corner of the room to tackle instead of the whole house. We put ourselves at that top of our list every morning to do some self care. Maybe that is a good sweaty workout, maybe that is spending time in prayer, maybe that is a cup of coffee after the kids get on the bus in total silence. It may be 5 minutes or it may be an entire hour. However long, WE are worth it. Be your first “check” off of that list everyday. Learning to prioritize what is most important to you, to your household functioning, to your family’s health, I believe is crucial to staying the course, finding that ever teetering balance, and achieving what we set out to do the beginning of each year, which for all of us is to simply make ourselves better in some way, shape or form. My goal this year is to be consistent. One simple word. Consistent with my health, consistent with my business plans and setting goals outside of my comfort zone, and not to be forgotten, be consistent in my relationships with others. {I struggle in this department.} Time with my husband, my children, my siblings and parents, and some solid friend time, the old and the new. This word I hope will help guide me on a path of accomplishing much in the year ahead, without the pressure of too much in too little time.  So what is your plan? What is your word? As the holidays come to a close, I can't help but have a grateful heart of what this season was for our family. It was slow & it was good to us. We had a wonderful Christmas & Abel was so much fun to watch. Not only for us, but our families too. He's an absolute treasure. It's hard to believe in less than NINE short weeks we will be adding another little kiddo in the mix. I can't imagine what the holidays will be like next year, and really every milestone in between. It will be crazy, but the best kind of crazy you can get. Hope your holiday season was filled with all the love & laughter your heart needed. <3
